From the time of the erection of this building in 1876 at the cost of $3500 the building has seen many changes. The original design of this two room school house was built on a rock foundation which housed two class rooms.  In the year of 1896 two rooms were added to the West side along with three years of high school.  In 1906 the Belfry and Clock were installed with donations covering the purchase cost.  This old clock can still be heard through - out town reminding us of the current time and the pace of small town living. 

The Old School On The Hill building has seen many changes in its use and around the town of Chamois, MO.  Today the building is used as a Bed and Breakfast.
